Atletico Madrid is taking legal action against Barcelona over Julian Alvarez

Barcelona is intensively trying to acquire Julian Alvarez, which resulted in an unexpected turn of events. Atletico Madrid has decided to take legal action against the Catalan club, accusing it of unethical actions during the transfer attempts. Things escalated after Alvarez publicly admitted he wanted to leave Atletico Madrid, sparking speculation about his possible move to Barcelona. According to reports from the AS daily, Atletico Madrid intends to report its objections to the FIFA authorities, claiming that Barcelona has exceeded the limits in its attempt to acquire a player whose contract is valid until 2030. After the Argentine striker stated that a transfer would be the best solution and he dreams of implementing it, Atletico officials are convinced that Barcelona acted behind the scenes. In an interview with AS, the club's representatives did not hide their disappointment and recalled previous disputes regarding transfer negotiations with Barcelona. "We have already seen how Barcelona operate in the past."  Alvarez has expressed his desire to leave the club and Atletico remain outraged by the historic transfer situations involving former striker Antoine Griezmann, believing similar tactics are being repeated. Although Barca are still linked with the Argentine international, Atletico Madrid refuses to discuss the transfer fee. The club maintains that the only way for Alvarez to leave is to pay his €500 million buyout clause. The Madrid club also believes that Barcelona tried similar strategies in previous transfer windows. Atletico feel that recent reports from Barcelona circles suggested that Alvarez's public statement was expected, increasing their suspicions that the situation is being staged.
