Former Feyenoord player Senesi called up for World Cup
Marcos Senesi was called up for the World Cup from Argentina as a replacement for the injured Leonardo Balerdi. Senesi previously played for the national team three times.

Marcos Senesi (Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur next season) is going to the World Cup with Argentina. Manager Lionel Scaloni chose the defender as a replacement for the injured Leonardo Balerdi.
Balerdi was dropped from the White and Green team, which will defend the World Champion title next year. A week ago he announced that he would not be able to help the team defend the title. However, Scaloni needed time to decide which of the club's players would take a break from their holidays next summer. Ultimately, the choice fell on Senesi.
The 29-year-old defender is not a completely new figure in the national team. Previously, he played three times, but it should be noted that all of these appearances took place in friendly matches.
In group J of next year's World Cup, Argentina will play against Algeria, Austria and Jordan.
