Women's Premiership teams Cliftonville and Linfield ended their All-Island Cup adventure at the quarter-final stage after defeats to Shelbourne and Galway on Saturday. The young Reds team lost 1-3 to Shels at Tolka Park, while the Blues lost 2-3 at Moyne Villa. Shelbourne took the lead in the 17th minute in Dublin when Aoibheann Clancy scored from the penalty spot. Clancy scored her second goal in the 38th minute, sending the ball low past Beth Peoples. Isabella Beletic equalized early in the second half for the hosts and Anna McGough scored her first senior goal in the 80th minute to give Galway the lead. Northern Ireland co-representative Cora Chambers equalized for the Blues three minutes later, but the team suffered a defeat in the final moments of the match when Emma Doherty scored the winner for Galway in stoppage time. Shelbourne and Galway progressed to the semi-finals, joining Peamount United, who beat Shamrock Rovers, and Bohemians, who beat Treaty United.
