Colchester have signed experienced defender Raggett

Colchester United have confirmed the signing of experienced centre-back Sean Raggett following his departure from Rotherham United. The 32-year-old was one of 11 players to leave Millers in May following their relegation to League Two last season. Raggett started his career with his hometown club Gillingham, then moved to Dover Athletic, where he spent six years. He scored the winning goal in the famous FA Cup match that saw Lincoln City beat Burnley 1-0, becoming the first non-league team to reach the quarter-finals of the tournament in 103 years. Raggett joined Portsmouth in 2020 and was part of the team that won the League One title four years later, playing a total of 239 games for the club.
