Cassap's goal debut for Northern Ireland

 Northern Ireland debutant Emily Cassap said her goal, scored just 66 seconds after coming on, was "probably the best goal I've ever scored". Michael McArdle's side were trailing 0-2 five minutes from time against Switzerland, with goals from Geraldine Reuteler and Smilly Vallotto, before Cassap, who came on, scored a fine goal to reduce their rivals' lead. “I was very surprised when the ball came to me, I just thought 'shoot' and I'm glad it went in,” Cassap told BBC Sport NI. "I think it's probably the best goal I've scored, I just thought I'd try and it was unbelievable. Switzerland are a very strong opponent, they moved the ball well, played very smart, but we also didn't give up and put up good resistance to them. Unfortunately we didn't manage to score, but I think we played very well." The Sunderland midfielder qualifies for the Northern Ireland national team by descent and this year, having previously played at youth level in England, she joined the Northern Ireland national team. Cassap is the second player to make her senior debut for NI after Michael McArdle's call-up, the first being Cora Chambers.
