Dino Toppmoller is the new coach of Lens

Racing Club de Lens has confirmed the employment of Dino Toppmoller as the team's new coach. The decision was made after former Lens coach Pierre Sage moved to Crystal Palace, where he took over as head coach following the departure of Oliver Glasner. Sage, in his only campaign at Lens in the 2025/26 season, almost led the team to the Ligue 1 championship, finishing second behind Paris Saint-Germain. Under his leadership, Lens also won the first French Cup in the club's history.  Dino Toppmoller, former coach of Eintracht Frankfurt, has signed a two-year contract with Lens. His main task will be to return the team to the Champions League in the 2026/27 season. Previously, Toppmoller led Eintracht in this prestigious competition, but was fired midway through the 2025/26 season. Under his leadership, Eintracht finished sixth in the Bundesliga in the 2023/24 season and third in 2024/25. However, in European competitions, the team performed poorly, winning only one of eight matches in the Champions League league stage, which ultimately led to his dismissal.
