The Eredivisie gains an advantage in the transfer window with a longer deadline

 Dutch Eredivisie football clubs will have a longer period this summer to finalize player transfers than teams from top European leagues. The KNVB has determined that the transfer window will close on September 2 at 23:59. During previous transfer periods, the Eredivisie also ended after the Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1. Interestingly, this year the transfer market in the Netherlands will be open two days longer than in Germany, where the closing date was set for August 31. In turn, clubs from Serie A, Ligue 1, Premier League and La Liga can sign new players until September 1, with the market closing at 8:00 p.m. in Serie A and Ligue 1, and at 11:59 p.m. in Spain and England. What's new this season is the fact that three Eredivisie rounds will be played after the transfer window closes. In previous years, there was an international break immediately after the transfer window closed, but this time it will take place later due to the combination of September and October international match dates. During this period, the Dutch national team will play as many as four Nations League matches.
