Fede Valverde apologizes for his performances at the World Cup

Real Madrid midfielder Fede Valverde has released an emotional statement following Uruguay's elimination from the World Cup. The future captain of Real Madrid experienced a difficult season at both club and national team level. Now he will have some time to rest after the exhausting campaign. I did everything in my power: I prepared physically and emotionally, I worked hard. throughout the season, trying to prevent history from repeating itself. But, of course, it will not be enough. I accept the failure, even if it takes me the rest of my life. I do not know how or when I have failed, but I fully admit that I have not been up to the task national team until I take it to the very top.” Valverde, hailed for years of sacrifice, faces perhaps the most important season of his Real Madrid career. If he has problems or does not fit in with Jose Mourinho, there will be speculation that Real Madrid may want to sell him next summer.
