AC Milan announced the signing of Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain on a five-year contract. According to Italian media, the transfer amount was EUR 80 million, including bonuses, which is a record sum in the club's history. Ramos became Ruben Amorim's first reinforcement at AC Milan.
Ramos, who is currently at the World Cup in Qatar with Portugal, spent three seasons with PSG. He joined the club on loan from Benfica in the 2023/24 season, and a year later the transfer was finalized. In total, he played 131 matches in all competitions, scoring 45 goals and winning 12 major trophies, including three French Championships and two Champions Cups. Last season he scored 13 goals in 50 appearances, but only 17 of them were in the first team.
Milan, in order to avoid the situation of the previous season, in which, after a poor end to the competition, it took only fifth place in Serie A, decided to strengthen its squad. Last season they scored only 53 goals in the league, which was the worst result among the top six teams. No Milan player scored ten goals last season. The team's best scorer in the league was Rafael Leao, who scored only nine goals, and his future at the club is currently in doubt.
