Hornchurch strengthens its squad by acquiring Jack Powell from Crewe Alexandra

New National League club Hornchurch have announced the signing of 32-year-old midfielder Jack Powell. The player was signed following his departure from Crewe Alexandra, where he played in 32 games in all competitions last season and the team finished 11th in League Two. Powell already has experience working with current Hornchurch coach Daryl McMahon, having previously worked with him at Ebbsfleet United. During his career, Powell also played 132 games in League Two for Crawley, known as the Red Devils.  "He is an excellent player who has had a fantastic career," McMahon said on the club's website. "He's still hungry and wants to be successful." Hornchurch have not revealed the length of Powell's contract, but his presence will certainly strengthen the team in the upcoming competition.
