Burchnall joins new coach Michael Skubala's team after working under interim coach Peter Leven at Aberdeen last season. Burchnall, 43, spent just over a year at Notts County and was in charge of Forest Green for eight months during their 2022-23 League One run. He managed teams in Norway with Viking FC and in Sweden with Ostersunds FK, and also served as assistant manager at Anderlecht in Belgium and Wolves under Gary O'Neil. “Ian is a great first addition to my coaching staff and an excellent coach, having been both head coach and assistant manager in Europe, including in the Premier League,” Skubala said. "He will bring real experience and a commitment to improving the players' skills, as well as great energy every day on the pitch. He looks forward to starting work with the players next week."
