Infantino: "Iran's participation in the World Cup in the USA is a success. I don't know who else would have achieved it"

 Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, in a press interview before the opening ceremony of the 23rd World Cup, again emphasized his satisfaction with Iran's participation in the tournament, despite the country's tense relations with the USA. "It's not easy when you have 300,000 accredited people, most of whom come from abroad, for verification. Unfortunately, in our world it is a very aggressive environment and safety is the most important thing. You have to respect the decisions you make. When I say to calm down, I don't mean to do nothing. I mean you have to trust us, we work behind the scenes, we try to understand, there are things we can know and things we cannot know. There are things told to us and things that are not told to us said. We always try to make the best of the situation and find solutions. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I think that just because Iran can play in the US, it's a success. Of course, everyone here believes that it's the right decision, but I repeat, we don't live on the Moon and we have to deal with different situations.
