Premier League intensity key to England's success at the 2026 World Cup

Over 80 percent of the players in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup normally play in the Premier League, considered one of the most difficult leagues in the world. Eberechi Eze, one of the key players, believes that this intensity has carried over into the tournament. England are one of the main favorites to win the World Cup and morale is high within the team after a successful start to the competition. The England squad includes players returning from successful domestic campaigns and confidence in the team is very high. Eze, one of several Arsenal players in the squad, emphasizes the impact of club successes on the form of the national team. Arsenal triumphed in the Premier League and reached the Champions League final this summer. The squad also includes Aston Villa players, who joined after winning the Europa League shortly before the start of the World Cup.  Eze expressed his thoughts on the English mentality, saying: "You can see the intensity, passion and spirit with which we play. We always try to impose our dominance in every match. You can see how difficult it is for the opponents to play against us, with the energy and spirit that we have, and add to that the quality we have in the team, we are very difficult to beat." Eze hopes to play a bigger role in the England squad after making his World Cup debut against Ghana, although competition for places in the squad is extremely fierce. England are still considered one of the strongest teams in the tournament, and their combination of technical quality, physical intensity and confidence make them difficult opponents for any team.
