Iran is still waiting for a historic advancement in the World Cup

Iran had planned for a senior federation official to speak during Saturday's training, but that meeting was canceled after the defeat to the Democratic Republic of Congo. These were the last moments of Melli's team at the tournament. This is another chapter in a story full of disappointments for Iranian football. Iran, which was the second oldest team at this Championship, failed to advance despite the experience of its players. The team faced many problems, including logistical and political difficulties. Captain Taremi noted that the lack of logistical support and the inability to recover adequately were key factors in their failure.
