Jeda defends Allegri's style: "He is not a defensive coach"

Jeda, a former striker associated with, among others, from Cagliari, gave an interview to Calcioinpillole, in which he referred to the possibility of Massimiliano Allegri taking over Napoli. Jeda, who worked with Allegri as a Cagliari player, emphasized that the coach is not a defensive coach, as he is often perceived. "When we talk about Allegri and his supposedly defensive football, I don't agree with that. One of the things I remember best from our time at Cagliari is that Allegri hated it when the team played poorly," said Jeda.  His opinion about Allegri differs from the commonly held opinion, which he emphasized by saying: "I do not share this opinion about Allegri's non-football because I know his approach as a coach first-hand. If he won so much in his career, it is not a coincidence: he has proven that he has important skills. As for Napoli, I think his choice would be the right one." Finally, Jeda added that after the Conte era, Napoli needs not only technical and tactical skills, but also a figure with great charisma who can manage a locker room full of pressure and used to fighting for the highest goals.
