According to Italian media, Juventus has initiated preliminary talks with Roma goalkeeper Mile Svil as negotiations for Emiliano Martinez and Guglielmo Vicario have stalled. Juventus director Giovanni Carnevali confirmed the interest in Martinez and Vicario, emphasizing that the club must sign a new starting goalkeeper in this transfer window. "The goalkeeper and striker are priorities, they are fundamental roles in the team," he said. "We have to work calmly because at the moment the financial demands are very high."
However, according to Italian media, the Old Lady is also targeting another goalkeeper - Mile Svilar from Roma, who won the award for the best goalkeeper in Serie A in the last two seasons. According to Fabrizio Romano, Gazzetta, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, Juventus is interested in 26-year-old Svila, who is under contract with Olimpico until 2030. Both Roma and Juventus must demonstrate capital gains by the end of the month to avoid potential sanctions for violating FFP rules. However, the Giallorossi do not want to sell their key players, including Svila. According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma denies being in talks with Juventus, but is said to have received no response from the Bianconeri after they revealed their €60 million price tag for Svila. Juventus hopes that Roma will eventually lower their demands to EUR 50 million, but the Old Lady is also struggling with financial problems and is currently unable to submit an offer that would meet Roma's demands.
