Manchester City is actively looking for a new midfielder, despite having recently signed Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. Eduardo Camavinga from Real Madrid was among the potential transfer targets. City were previously interested in Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, but the Italian midfielder is close to signing a contract with Tottenham after reaching an agreement between the clubs.
According to reports from Marca, Manchester City was in talks with Real Madrid regarding Camavinga. Real's new coach, Jose Mourinho, reportedly agreed to sell the Frenchman because he was not satisfied with his performances so far. Camavinga is considered a versatile player who could strengthen City, but his frequent injuries may discourage the English club from finalizing the transfer.

Camavinga is a technically gifted player who can play in various roles in midfield as well as left defense. His ability to move the ball and read the game could be a big asset in the Premier League. However, without a specific plan for its use, its versatility may also be its weakness. An additional problem may be the potential costs of the transfer, as Real Madrid does not intend to sell him for cheap.
City are also considering signing Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille, but it has not yet been decided whether the player will be included in the squad immediately or will be loaned back to Lille for the 2026-27 season.
