The 61-year-old Italian, who recently won the Qatar championship, terminated his contract with the club. According to Fabrizio Romano, the reason for this move is Manci's desire to return to the position of coach of the Italian national team. Mancini was Italy's coach from 2018 to 2023 and led the team to the European title in 2021. According to Romano, the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) wants to employ Manci again as a coach and an offer for him has already been prepared. The Italian is to replace Gennaro Gattuso, who was fired as coach of the Italian national team in April this year. During his career, Mancini coached clubs such as Internazionale, Manchester City and Galatasaray. His return as coach of the Italian national team is important because for the third time in a row the Italians did not qualify for the World Cup, which is currently taking place in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Mancini became Al-Sadd's coach on November 13, 2022, and just eight months after taking up the position, he resigned from his job in Qatar.
