Japan won comfortably 4-0 at Estadio Monterrey, with Ayase Ueda scoring two goals and Daichi Kamada and Junya Ito adding one goal each. This result allowed Japan to move level on points with the Netherlands at the top of Group F, and in the final group match, Japan will face Sweden, which was defeated by the Netherlands 1-5. However, Japan can be confident of advancing to the knockout stage, as they extended their undefeated series in the World Championship to four matches (2 wins and 2 draws). This is the longest series in the history of the national team, and in each of these matches Japan scored at least one goal, which is also a record, as Japan scored goals in four consecutive World Cup matches (previously 1998-2002). Moriyasu emphasized that his team had already had to struggle with problems during the tournament, as team captain Wataru Endo was excluded from the tournament due to an injury and announced his retirement from the national team, and Takefusa Kubo suffered a knee injury in the match against the Netherlands. "It was our second match at the World Cup, a match with great tension and one that was watched by many people around the world. I am very happy that we managed to win in such a match. But to see that there are injured players in our team is, of course, a very sad thing and a painful blow. However, we built the team on the principle that anyone who enters the pitch can win, and anyone who plays in tandem with someone will also function effectively," said Moriyasu. Moriyasu received special praise from Daichi Kamada, who scored the first goal of the match, beating the rival goalkeeper in the 4th minute of the match after a cross from Keito Nakamura. Kamada's goal was the earliest goal scored by Japan at a World Cup, and the 29-year-old midfielder became the second Japanese player in history to score in two consecutive World Cup matches (after Junichi Inamoto in 2002). Moriyasu put Kamada in a more offensive formation against Tunisia. "Daichi Kamada has so far been played as a defensive midfielder. But considering our current situation in the team, we asked him to play as the so-called second striker and we wanted him to take responsibility for creating offensive actions," added Moriyasu. Tunisia, following this defeat, was eliminated from the World Cup, along with Türkiye and Haiti. In addition, the authorities of the Tunisian football federation dismissed the current coach, Sabri Lamouchi, and Hervé Renard became the new coach. This is the fifth time in World Cup history that one team uses more than one coach during one tournament. However, Renard did not manage to improve the performance of the Tunisians, who suffered their second defeat in a row in the tournament, with a difference of 4 goals. "It's not the performance we expected. The result in the second leg is difficult, but it reflects the difference between the teams in this match," Renard said. --- ## Related Articles 1.
