A new approach to Italian football: the Malagò program for FIGC

Giovanni Malagò, who is running for president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), presented his program, which consists of 23 pages. The key element of his proposal is sustainable development without introducing drastic changes, but through a modern and organized approach to management. Malagò focuses on a managerial approach that includes standing committees, measurable goals, timelines, annual reports and the use of data and digital technologies. The program highlights five main priorities: international competitiveness of national teams, economic sustainability of clubs, infrastructure, youth development and modernization of the federation. Serie A is considered the main engine of Italian football, but at the same time it is important to maintain a system based on lower leagues, such as LND and Lega Pro, and youth development.  Malagò proposes the introduction of modern solutions in managing the federation, which should be modern, digital and measurable. It emphasizes the importance of working with government, parliament and leagues to achieve goals. The program also includes a proposal to create a national plan for stadiums and sports centers, with simplified authorization processes and public-private partnerships. With regard to youth, the program assumes rewarding clubs for the development of young talents through appropriate minutes of opportunity on the pitch, continuity of the development path and support for second teams and technical partnerships. Actions are also proposed to develop women's football, including supporting the academy, infrastructure and a dual career integrating training and football. The Malagò program seeks to create a 'gentlemen's agreement' for the future of Italian football, which aims to unite all interested parties around a common goal of development and modernization. --- ## Related Articles 1.
