New technologies for the 2026 World Cup

FIFA is introducing a number of technological innovations for the upcoming World Cup in North America to reduce the number of poor referee decisions. One of them will be the possibility of three-dimensional reconstruction of the match in real time, as well as improved semi-automatic analysis of offsides. All this to give the judges even more help and to make as few mistakes as possible. Many new technological solutions will be introduced by FIFA for the upcoming World Cup to further reduce poor refereeing decisions.  Representatives of all teams taking part in the World Cup will be scanned before the tournament, thanks to which their dimensions will be displayed on the pitch during television broadcasts. "Possible doubts regarding referees' decisions will be able to be resolved even faster and more precisely," FIFA announced.
