An extreme temperature warning was issued in the French capital this week as a high of 39 degrees Celsius (102 Fahrenheit) was recorded on Friday and a record high of 41 degrees (106 Fahrenheit) was set on Thursday, prompting the Eiffel Tower to close early. France recorded its warmest day on record on Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 43.8 degrees (110.84 Fahrenheit) in the west of the country. This Sunday, when the competition takes place at Stade Charlety, located in the south of Paris, slightly lower temperatures are forecast - when the first race of the Diamond League takes place at 4:55 p.m., it will be 29 degrees Celsius in the stadium. A red weather alert is in force for Paris from Thursday, June 25, to Saturday, June 27. The Paris police asked the organizers to cancel the competition and other events planned for this weekend in the capital, such as the equality march or the Solidays music festival.
