2026 World Cup Group G guide: Belgium favorites ahead of Iran, Egypt and New Zealand

On paper, Group G shouldn't pose much of a challenge. Belgium should win the group, and the fight for second place will be between Iran and Egypt. Iran has moved its base to Mexico, and its players will only be allowed to stay in the US on match day. This makes for a fascinating scenario. Belgium is the favorite in the group, but Egypt and Iran may have a tough fight to advance to the knockout stages.
