Paul Pogba's future: where will he play when he returns?

Paul Pogba, one of the most intriguing free agents on the market, will soon return to the game at the age of 31. In February this year, he was suspended after testosterone was detected in his body, which was confirmed by the Italian anti-doping agency. He was banned from playing until August 2027, but an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced the sentence to 18 months. Pogba will be able to return to training in January and play in official matches from March. In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba expressed his desire to return to Juventus, even though talks about terminating his contract are ongoing. His current contract runs until 2026, but the club reduced his salary to PLN 2,000. euro per month. Clubs from Europe and MLS are also expressing interest in Pogba, although his future is still uncertain. Pogba, who returned to Juventus in 2022, has only played 12 times for them due to injury. His contract at Manchester United ended in 2022, after which he returned to Turin. Meanwhile, Juventus has undergone a significant squad overhaul, which could make his return to the team difficult.  Pogba has ruled out playing for another Italian club, which limits his options to Spain, England, Germany or France. Real Madrid, which was interested in him five years ago, is now focusing on younger players. Barcelona, ​​in turn, has no plans to sign Pogba, which leaves Atletico Madrid as the only option in Spain. A return to England, either to Manchester City or Arsenal, seems unlikely. In Germany, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have shown no interest in Pogba, and Ligue 1 could be attractive to him, especially as Paris Saint-Germain have tried to sign him in the past. Interestingly, MLS could be a viable option for Pogba, even though clubs like LA Galaxy and Inter Miami already have full quotas for DP players. Pogba could sign a contract for smaller amounts, just like Gareth Bale or Marco Reus. Pogba may also be considering playing in the Saudi league, where he could join Al Ittihad, the club he visited in 2023.
