Record age difference on the pitch during the 2026 World Cup: Ronaldo and Karimov

During the match of the second round of Group K of the 2026 World Cup between the teams of Portugal and Uzbekistan, a record age difference between players on the pitch was recorded. Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo was 41 years, 4 months and 18 days old at the time of this match, while Uzbekistan defender Behruzjon Karimov was 18 years, 10 months and 16 days old. The age difference between these players was 22 years and 183 days.  The previous age difference record was held by Róger Milli from Cameroon and Vladimir Biesczastny from Russia, set at the 1994 World Championships, where it was 21 years and 321 days. After the first round, Portugal had one point scored, while Uzbekistan had not yet managed to score any points.
