Sandro Tonali: Juventus was never close to a transfer

Sandro Tonali, who is currently preparing for a new adventure in London, has refuted all rumors about a possible transfer to Juventus. In the interview, he explained that there was never a real chance to move to Turin. As he noted, "it was always very difficult, even if we talked about it." The main obstacle was the cost of the entire operation, estimated at EUR 180 million, which included both the transfer amount and the player's high salary. The transfer amount was approximately 100 million pounds, and Tonali's additional remuneration was to reach 8 million euros per year. Tonali admitted that although working in Italy, especially under the supervision of Paolo Maldini, would be exciting for him, the financial realities were insurmountable for Juventus. "I'm really happy, everything is different, we decided to change and we are ready for this new adventure," Tonali added.  In the meantime, Tottenham decided to proceed with the transfer ahead of other Premier League clubs who were also interested in Tonali. Manchester United considered him as a priority transfer target after Ederson, but in the end it was Spurs who made the move.
