Theo Bongonda: playing for Spartak is a privilege. I'm grateful to everyone at the club

Former midfielder of Moscow's "Spartak" Theo Bongonda, currently playing for the national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, shared warm words in the address of the capital club regarding the successes at the 2026 World Cup. DR Congo won over the Uzbekistan team in the match of the 3rd group round of the tournament with a score of 3:1, securing promotion to the knockout phase, where its rival will be the English national team.  "I am very happy to have played for Spartak. Yes, last year did not go as I wanted, but I am very grateful to the club for everything. To have the opportunity to play for such a big club is a privilege. Many thanks to them, I am grateful to everyone, and now I am moving on," Bongonda said in an interview with "Championship" journalist Andrei Pankov. Theo Bongonda played for Moscow's "Spartak" in 2021-2023. The 2026 FIFA World Cup takes place in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
