Uruguay resigned from its charter after being eliminated from the 2026 World Cup

The Uruguayan Football Federation (AUF) has decided to cancel a charter flight for its national team after the team was eliminated from the 2026 World Cup. This information was revealed by journalist Martin Charquero on his social media page. Each competitor will have to return to the country from the USA on a commercial airline.  The Uruguayan national team finished third in Group H with two points after three matches. Spain became the leader of this group with seven points, and the second place went to the team from Cape Verde with three points. Saudi Arabia took fourth place. The 2026 World Cup takes place in the USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.
