The tenth edition of the Women's World Cup will be held in Brazil from June 24 to July 25, 2027. The matches will be played in eight stadiums that previously hosted the 2014 Men's World Cup. This will be the last tournament with 32 teams, as this number will be increased to 48 teams in the 2031 edition. Brazil, as the host country, is assured of a place in the tournament. The current champions are Spain, who won their first title in 2023 by defeating England.
The first round of European qualifying for the World Cup took place between March and June 2026. Fifty-three European teams are divided into three leagues according to the 2025 UEFA Women's Nations League rankings: 16 teams in Leagues A and B and 21 teams in League C. The four group winners from League A, Denmark, France, Spain and Germany, directly advanced to the 2027 World Cup. The remaining teams from League A, including England and Ireland, went to the play-offs. The top three teams from each League B group advanced to the play-offs, as did the six League C group winners and the two best League C runners-up.

A total of 32 teams will qualify from the six confederations and the intercontinental play-off tournament: Europe: 11 places, Asia: 6 places, Africa: 4 places, North, Central America and the Caribbean: 4 places, South America: 3 places, Oceania: 1 place, intercontinental play-off tournament: 3 places. Brazil will be joined by the teams that won places in the qualifying rounds: Europe: France, Denmark, Germany, Spain; Asia: Australia, China, South Korea, Japan, Philippines, North Korea; South America: Brazil (host), Argentina, Colombia; Oceania: New Zealand.
The draw for the European play-offs will take place on Thursday, June 18. The play-offs will be played in two rounds between October and December 2026. In the first round, the 32 teams will be divided into two tracks - Track 1 and Track 2. In Track 1, the teams that finished second and third in League A will be matched against the teams that were promoted from League C. They will play two-legged matches in October, with the winners advancing to the second round. In Path 2, the last-placed teams in League A and the best teams in League B will face the second- and third-placed teams in League B. Similarly to Path 1, these will be two-legged games in October to advance to the second round. In the second round, which will take place in November and December, the winners of Track 1 will face the winners of Track 2 in two legs. The winners will qualify for next year's World Championships, and other teams will fight for a place in the intercontinental play-offs.
