Post-match confusion: Canada wins against Qatar, but emotions run high

Canada achieved an impressive victory over Qatar, but the joy of the victory was overshadowed by a serious injury to Ismaël Koné, who had to leave the field. After the final whistle, there was confusion between the players and coaches of both teams. Jesse Marsch and Julen Lopetegui, coaches of both teams, got into a verbal fight, which turned into a wider riot on the pitch. During the press conference, Marsch criticized the behavior of the Qatari bench, but did not want to go into details of the situation. Lopetegui also avoided dwelling on the subject.  Despite these emotions, Nathan Saliba, the young midfielder from Anderlecht who replaced the injured Koné, scored just seven minutes after coming on. Saliba dedicated his goal to Koné, later saying in an interview that he felt like he had to learn to swim while being thrown into the ocean.
