Eisenbichler becomes a supervisor in Austria
One year after retiring, Markus Eisenbichler returns to the Austrian ski jumping team as a supervisor to provide support with equipment.

Austria's Nordic combined teams can look forward to a prominent new addition to the service and material development area: Markus Eisenbichler will work under the leadership of Balthasar Schneider. The association confirmed this on Wednesday. "I would like to contribute my know-how. My passion as an athlete has always been flight and material. I will continue to transport that, I want to support the athletes," said the 35-year-old, who will work with, among others, former world champion Johannes Lamparter and World Cup bronze medalist Lisa Hirner. "My tasks in the service area will be broad, from ski service to the further development of the material. The material and the coordination are a very important part of being successful in the end," explained Eisenbichler, who ended his ski jumping career a year ago. Eisenbichler, who has been police chief commissioner since the end of 2024, won gold in the individual competition as a ski jumper at the 2019 World Cup in Seefeld, as well as five World Cup gold medals in the team. In Beijing he won Olympic bronze with the team in 2022.
