Kazunari Kita permanently at Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad decided to permanently include the young Japanese defender Kazunari Kita in its squad by purchasing him from Kyoto Sanga. The Basque club exercised the €1.5 million buyout option that was included in last season's loan deal. The 18-year-old footballer signed a contract until June 30, 2030, becoming one of the key young talents on whom Real Sociedad wants to base its future.

Kita moved to San Sebastián last summer to strengthen Real Sociedad B in the Liga Hypermotion competition. His rapid development and impressive performances, including solid defense and aerial ability, contributed to 31 appearances last season, including 27 starting starts.

His attitude resulted in a call-up to the first team, and sports director Erik Bretos emphasized the importance of choosing the right development path for the young player. In the new season, Kita is expected to continue his development in the reserve team, but could potentially also compete for a place in the first team, especially during the summer training camp under the supervision of coach Pellegrino Matarazzo.

Kita is a left-footed defender who stands out for his height, strength in duels and the ability to build up plays from the back, which makes him one of the most promising talents in the Real Sociedad academy.
