Manchester United wants to strengthen their midfield under Michael Carrick

Under new coach Michael Carrick, Manchester United plan to focus on strengthening their midfield this summer. One of the main candidates is Ederson from Atalanta, whose transfer is expected to be worth around £35 million. If it goes through, it would be the club's first transfer after Carrick was confirmed as the team's permanent coach. The departure of Casemiro, whose contract expires on June 30, forces the club to look for new solutions in midfield. Although Manuel Ugarte, brought in from Paris Saint-Germain for £42.5 million, failed to break into the first team, his future at the club is in doubt.
