Sampdoria is close to hiring a new sports director

The situation regarding the position of sports director at Sampdoria may soon be resolved. Recently, the club said goodbye to Andrea Mancini, who moved to Cesena, and the technical coordinator, Giovanni Invernizzi. Currently, the club is close to finalizing a contract with Américo Branco, who is to take up this position. Branco, after three years with Dutch Fortuna Sittard, is ready for a new challenge in Serie B and is preparing to start working in Genoa.  Branco's appointment will be the first step towards rebuilding and strengthening the club after poor seasons that brought Sampdoria close to relegation to Serie C. The next step will be filling other key positions at the club, including team manager, general secretary, head of scouting and coach. Potential candidates for these positions include names such as Possanzini and Velazquez.
