Sunderland are still negotiating Geertruida's transfer

 Sunderland have published the list of players who will remain at the club for the 2026-27 Premier League season. Those set to leave include Dan Neil, Dennis Cirkin, Bertrand Traore and Niall Huggins. The club announced that it is still in talks with Lutsharel Geertruida. The Dutch defender, who spent last season on loan from RB Leipzig, contributed to Sunderland's promotion from League One to the Premier League. Neil, who captained the team and was instrumental in its success, joined Ipswich Town on loan in January, ending his spell with Sunderland after over 200 appearances. Dennis Cirkin, left-back, is leaving the club after five years during which he helped the team gain promotion to the top flight.
