Tottenham makes a record transfer of Sandro Tonali
Tottenham Hotspur has completed the transfer of Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, paying over €100 million for him. This is a key element in rebuilding the club after a difficult season.

Tottenham Hotspur has reached an agreement with Newcastle United for the transfer of Sandro Tonali. This information was reported by, among others, The Athletic, Sky Sports and Fabrizio Romano. The Italian midfielder is expected to move to London for a fee exceeding EUR 100 million.
After last season, when Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation, the north London club is working intensively on its reconstruction. Players such as Martin Dúbravka, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke have already joined the team led by Roberto De Zerbi. Sandro Tonali is expected to be another important reinforcement, and the club also plans to spend huge amounts of money on Matheus Fernandes.

Tottenham will pay Newcastle United €108 million for the 26-year-old Italian midfielder, and an additional almost €9 million could be paid in bonuses. Tonali, who has been one of Newcastle's key players over the past two seasons, joined the English club from AC Milan for €60 million in mid-2023. Despite his suspension for illegal gambling practices, he remains a 32-time representative of Italy and a player of Brescia.
In the new club, Tonali will compete for a place in midfield with players such as Conor Gallagher, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Sarr, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall. His new teammates include Micky van de Ven, Xavi Simons and Jan Paul van Hecke.
